Malcolm-Holland

C. Malcolm Holland 

C. Malcolm Holland is the Chairman of the Board, CEO and President of Veritex Holdings, Inc and Veritex Community Bank since the originations began in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

He has been a banker all his professional life and has a record of successfully growing banks. After beginning his career as an analyst and commercial banker in 1982, he started his first bank, EastPark National Bank in 1985.

Fidelity Bank purchased EastPark in February of 1995, and he became EVP, head of commercial lending. In 1998, Fidelity Bank was sold to Compass Bank, where he served as Sr. VP, head of Business Banking. In 2000, he accepted the job of President of First Mercantile Bank. In 2002, First Mercantile Bank was acquired by Colonial Bank where he served as Senior Lender. He was appointed CEO of the Texas Region of Colonial Bank in March 2003. Colonial Bank, a fatality of the great recession, eventually became a part of BB&T. Holland declined an employment offer from BB&T to start Veritex Community Bank.

Malcolm has a BBA from Southern Methodist University. He is very active in the community including serving Watermark Community Church, Past President of the Texas Golf Association, and the USGA as an executive committee member from 2013-2016.

Mark-Griege

MARK C. GRIEGE

Mark Griege joined our board in 2009, and currently serves as the Lead Independent Director of Veritex Holdings Inc, after previously serving as chair of the Compensation and Audit Committees.

Mark is the Managing Partner of the Texas region of Corient, a national independent wealth management firm that serves the needs of high-net-worth individuals and families. Previously, Mark was the CEO of RGT Wealth Advisors, an independent wealth management firm he co-founded in 1985. In 2020, Mark led the sale of RGT to Corient, and has played an integral role with Corient’s M&A efforts, assisting with the purchase and integration of several additional wealth management businesses over the past three years. Today, Corient serves clients in 20 markets in the United States with over $115 billion of assets under management, and along with his responsibilities in Texas, Mark has national responsibilities in M&A, strategy, and governance.

Mark brings over 35 years of investment and business experience to the Veritex Board, spending the bulk of his professional career in the wealth management profession with prior experience in the tax departments of a “Big Four” accounting firm and a regional law firm.

Mark enjoys an active life in both the professional realm and the local community. He has previously served on the boards of the Dallas FPA, the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, the CFP Board of Practice Standards, Schwab Institutional, and the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Financial Planning. He is also active in the community, serving on the boards of philanthropic foundations associated with the charitable efforts of his clients. In addition, he's on the Board of Directors at Dallas National Golf Club and a member of Watermark Community Church.

Mark received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in 1981, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1985. Mark has been recognized by Worth Magazine and D Magazine as one of its "Best Financial Advisors" and he frequently speaks on a variety of investment and financial planning topics.

Arcilia Acosta

Arcilia Acosta

Arcilia Acosta joined our board in February 2021.  Ms. Acosta is founder, CEO and President of CARCON Industries and Construction. Ms. Acosta is a celebrated 30-year business veteran. Her company, CARCON Industries and Construction, is a full-services construction firm based in Dallas with offices throughout Texas. CARCON is a 100% Minority/Woman-Owned Business Enterprise that specializes in transportation, industrial, commercial and education construction. Ms. Acosta is also the President and controlling principal of Southwestern Testing Laboratories, a geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing firm also based in Dallas.

Ms. Acosta has held board level positions with some of Texas’ most successful corporations. From 2013 until it was acquired in 2019, Ms. Acosta served as a member of the Board of Directors of Legacy Texas Financial Group, N.A., a bank holding company with an asset size of $9Billion. She currently serves on the Boards of Vistra Corporation and Magnolia Oil & Gas Corporation. Previously, she has served on the Boards of TPG Pace Energy Holdings Corporation, ONE Gas, Incorporated, and more than 10 years at Energy Future Holdings Corporation.

Ms. Acosta is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Harvard University Business School’s Corporate Governance Program. She was inducted into the National Women’s Business Hall of Fame and is a member of the National Women Energy Directors Network. In 2019 she became a board member of the Communities Foundation of Texas, for ten years she has been a board member of the Dallas Citizens Council, and in 2023 will become the Chairwoman of the Dallas Citizens Council.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Abbott appointed Ms. Acosta to the Strike Force to Open Texas. She is one of 40 members from across the state appointed to that Special Advisory Council. In 2016 Governor Greg Abbott appointed Ms. Acosta to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for a three-year term.

Pat-Bolin

PAT S. BOLIN

Pat S. Bolin joined our board in March 2011 upon our acquisition of Fidelity Bank of Dallas. Mr. Bolin is the Executive Chairman of the Board of Eagle Oil & Gas Co., a private independent oil and gas company based in Dallas founded by Mr. Bolin in 1976. Mr. Bolin is also Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive officer of Eagle Corp., Inc. Mr. Bolin began his professional career as a landman for Mitchell Energy Corp. in 1973. Mr. Bolin currently serves on the board of directors of Fidelity Bank, Wichita Falls, Texas and its holding company, FB Bancshares, Inc. Mr. Bolin has previously served on the boards of directors of Mercantile Bank & Trust and Fidelity Bank of Dallas. Mr. Bolin also serves on the board of directors for Goodwill Industries and the executive board of the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business and the Second Century Campaign Steering Committee at Southern Methodist University. Mr. Bolin received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in 1973.

April Box

April Box

April Box has served on our board since 2020.  She also served on our Board from 2017 to 2018 and as a Board advisor during 2019. Ms. Box is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Health System Foundation and Senior Vice president of external affairs for Methodist Health System. Ms. Box holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes College, Memphis, Tennessee, and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Active in community and philanthropic service, she is a member of the World Presidents Organization, the International Women’s Forum, and currently serves as a board member for the State Fair of Texas. In 2013, Ms. Box was recognized as the Outstanding Fundraising Executive at the National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon, presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Dallas Chapter.  Ms. Box recently completed a Presidential Appointment as Senior Advisor at AmeriCorps in Washington, D.C.

Blake-Bozman

Blake Bozman

Blake Bozman has served on our board since 2020.  He also served on our board from 2009 to 2018 and as a Board advisor during 2019. Mr. Bozman is a Managing Director of Freedom Truck Finance, a secondary truck finance company based in Dallas. Mr. Bozman oversees the operations of Prattco International, Inc., a family- owned business specializing in real estate investments and purchasing oil and gas properties. From 1995 to 2006, Mr. Bozman was with Drive Financial Services, a consumer finance company focused on sub-prime auto finance, which he co-founded in 1995 and served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Originations. Mr. Bozman received a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Southern Methodist University in 1993.

Don-Ellis

William D. Ellis

William Donald Ellis, also known as Don, joined our board in 2019, having served as Vice Chairman at Green Bancorp, Inc. since October 1, 2015 and as Vice Chairman at Green Bank N.A. Previously, he was the Founder and Chairman of Patriot Bancshares, headquartered in Houston, and served as its Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Patriot Bancshares, Inc. (“Patriot”) from its inception in 2005. Prior to his time with Patriot, Mr. Ellis held senior executive positions with several other financial institutions, including Texas Regional President for Union Planters Bank in Houston and Senior Vice President Regional Retail Banking Manager for BB&T in Washington, D.C. He currently serves on The Board of Advocates of The Truett Seminary at Baylor University and is a former Director of Theater Under the Stars and Mission Centers of Houston. Mr. Ellis received his B.S. from Mississippi College and his M.B.A. from the University of North Alabama.

William-Fallon

WILLIAM E. FALLON

William Fallon joined the  board of Veritex Holdings, Inc in May of 2020. Mr. Fallon previously served as an Executive Vice President at PNC Bank, N.A., holding various roles, including Chief Commercial Credit Risk Officer from 1996 to 2018 and Merger and Acquisition Leader from 2003 to 2018. Mr. Fallon oversaw Wholesale Lending Originations from 1978 to 1996.

In addition, Mr. Fallon served on the Executive Committee of The United States Golf Association from 2012 to 2017 and currently serves on the Executive Committee of West Penn Golf Association, and the Museum Committee of the United States Golf Association. Mr. Fallon received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and his Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University.

Gordon-Huddleston

GORDON HUDDLESTON

Gordon Huddleston served on our board in 2017 and 2018 and was re-elected to the board in 2020.  Mr. Huddleston has also served on the Bank’s board of directors since 2012.

Mr. Huddleston is a Partner of Aethon Energy and has served as Co-President since 2013. From 2010 to September 2013, Mr. Huddleston served as Aethon’s Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Huddleston graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science.

Steven-Lerner

STEVEN D. LERNER

Steven D. Lerner joined our board in 2019. He was an Independent Director, Chairman of the Audit Committee and Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee at Green Bancorp, Inc. and served as a Director of Green Bank, N. A. Mr. Lerner is the Chief Executive Officer of TRC Ventures, L.P., formerly The Redstone Companies, LP. Previously, he held the position of President of Redstone Companies Real Estate, LLC and was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Redstone Companies and numerous Redstone-related entities since 1998. Before that, Mr. Lerner was a Partner of the Houston law firm now known as ​Schlanger Silver.

He is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He graduated with honors in Government from the University of Texas and is an honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a member of The Texas Law Review. Mr. Lerner is also the Chairman of the Board of the Uptown Development Authority/Uptown TIRZ, as well as a member of the Board of Harris County Improvement District #1 (the Uptown District in Houston).

Manny-Mehos

MANUEL J. MEHOS

Manuel J. Mehos, also known as Manny, joined our board in 2019. Mr. Mehos served as Chairman of the Board at Green Bank N.A. and served and Chairman and CEO of Green Bancorp, Inc since he founded it in 2004. He served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Coastal Bancorp Inc., Coastal Banc Holding Company, Inc., Coastal Banc Mortgage Corp. and the Bank. Prior to starting Coastal Banc, he worked for Goldman Sachs and KPMG as a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Mehos is a CPA and received his B.B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Texas.

Gregory-Morrison

GREGORY B. MORRISON

Greg Morrison joined the Veritex Holdings, Inc. board in May 2017 and has served on the Veritex Community Bank's board of directors since December 2016. Mr. Morrison is the retired Senior Vice President and Corporate Chief Information Officer for Cox Enterprises, Inc. Cox Enterprises is a leading communications, media and automotive services company with revenues exceeding $22 billion and approximately 60,000 employees. Greg served eighteen years as corporate CIO of Cox Enterprises. He was responsible for delivering all information technology and cyber security solutions.

He is known for authorship of large-scale business transformations, key technology deployments that accelerate the digitization of manual business processes, a commitment to career path modeling of IT professional and his passion for diverse leadership teams. He was named among the industry's top performing CIOs who showed unparalleled leadership to drive innovation and transformation in their businesses. Mr. Morrison received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from SC State University and a Masters of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.

John-Sughrue

JOHN T. SUGHRUE

John Sughrue serves as a Director and Chief Executive Officer of Brook Partners, Inc., a diversified full-service real estate company based in Dallas, which he founded in 1994. Mr. Sughrue is Chairman of FIG Enterprises, Inc. which operates the Fashion Industry Gallery fashion tradeshow venue in Downtown Dallas and is Chairman of Dallas Art Fair LLC.  From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Sughrue served as an advisory board member for the Texas Region of Colonial Bank. From 1987 to 1989, Mr. Sughrue was an associate at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and from 1983 to 1985 he was a Real Estate Lending Officer at Chemical Bank.

Mr. Sughrue received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard College in 1982 and a Masters of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 1988.
