Veritex Bank Championship Announces Charitable Partners
ARLINGTON, Texas – The Veritex Bank Championship is pleased to announce charitable partnerships with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County and The Folded Flag Foundation. The Korn Ferry Tour, Path to the PGA TOUR, returns to Texas Rangers Golf Club from April 10-16 for the 2nd annual tournament as 156 of the best players in the world compete. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to positively impact the youth of Tarrant County and support the families of military members who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County (BGCGTC) is the largest Boys & Girls Club in the state of Texas. The Clubs provide services and special programs to over 36,000 youth a year, with ages ranging from six to 24. The BGCGTC is committed to being a premier youth development program in the community, a low-cost or free resource for all, and a safe and welcoming environment for children and teens.
“We are honored to have been chosen as a charity partner of the Veritex Bank Championship,” said Daphne Barlow, CEO & President of BGCGTC. “Anera Sports and Veritex Community Bank have been generous and creative in their approach to including the Club in ways that provide rich opportunities for our members to be exposed to the game of golf and for the community to experience our mobile programming. Extending beyond the weekend of the tournament, this partnership allows us to continue to effectively serve families with basic needs support, academic enrichment, and mental health resources in ways that will change the trajectory of kids’ lives.”
As part of the partnership, the Veritex Bank Championship Junior Clinic presented by Dallas Golf will welcome 45 youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County program. Korn Ferry Tour professionals will provide a demo and lead the clinic instruction, while juniors have a chance to chip, putt, and hit balls on the range. In addition, the BGCGTC Mobile Clubhouse will be on-site Wednesday – Saturday of the tournament and offer a welcoming place for younger spectators. All spectators are encouraged to visit the Clubhouse to learn more.
The Veritex Bank Championship will also support The Folded Fag Foundation for a second consecutive year. The organization provides educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children of the U.S. military and government personnel who died because of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.
“The Folded Flag Foundation is honored to be recognized again this year at the Veritex Bank Championship,” said Kim Frank, President of The Folded Flag Foundation. “We appreciate the continued support for our Gold Star families and 100% of all donations will go towards educational scholarships and grants for these families.”
All active military, veterans, first responders and their families (spouse and children under 18) can attend the championship at no cost from April 13-16. The Veritex Bank Championship will recognize the brave men and women who protect our freedom and keep our communities safe on Saturday, April 16 as part of Military & First Responder Appreciation Day.
Veritex Community Bank is the proud title sponsor of the Korn Ferry Tour event as part of a five-year agreement with the PGA TOUR and the City of Arlington. The Dallas-based community bank specializes in business banking, commercial loans, small business lending, treasury management, and mortgages.
