Scottie Scheffler headlines relationships with 28 players with Texas ties across all professional tours, including four rookie standouts and collegiate ambassadors.
DALLAS, Feb. 5 – Veritex Community Bank maintains its leadership as the premier supporter of golf in Texas with the announcement of its 2025 Golf Ambassadors. Scottie Scheffler (Dallas/Texas), who has been a member of #TeamVeritex since his rookie season, highlights the group of 28 players that competes across the PGA, LPGA, Champions, Korn Ferry, APGA, Americas and EPSON Tours. Each player features their own journey story, with ties to Texas through connections to community, hometowns, and/or university affiliation.
“The values our Team Veritex players demonstrate are as important as the strength of their game,” said Veritex Bank CEO and Chairman of the Board, C. Malcolm Holland, III. “We proudly support their journey, celebrating both their unparalleled successes and their resilience through challenges. This inspiring story connects with individuals and businesses throughout Texas communities.”
Each relationship with a Veritex Bank Golf Ambassador includes brand representation on either a player’s clothing or golf bag. Additionally, #TeamVeritex members commit to appearances at Veritex Bank events throughout the year.
Scheffler started his 2025 season on the PGA Tour last week at Pebble Beach with a top-10 finish and will play at this week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open Championship where he is a two-time winner. Sam Stevens (Wichita/Oklahoma State) is a third-year ambassador and recently earned status in signature events following a second-place finish at Torrey Pines.
Additionally, Mac Meissner (Dallas/SMU) and Chandler Phillips (Huntsville/Texas A&M) were able to keep full status following their rookie season on the PGA Tour. New to the roster is rookie Matthew Riedel (Houston/Vanderbilt) who gained his PGA Tour Card through qualifying school months after graduating college. Both Max McGreevy (Oklahoma City/Oklahoma) and Noah Goodwin (Dallas/SMU) earned promotions via their 2024 finish on the Korn Ferry Tour. Additional ambassadors with PGA Tour status include Ryan Palmer (Colleyville/Texas A&M), Hayden Springer (Fort Worth/TCU), and Pierceson Coody (Plano/Texas).
Returning to the Veritex Bank roster and competing on the Korn Ferry Tour are Austin Smotherman (Dallas/SMU), Kramer Hickok (Dallas/Texas), Paul Haley II (Dallas/Georgia Tech), Parker Coody (Plano/Texas), Mitchell Meissner (San Antonio/Rice), Cole Hammer (Houston/Texas), and Cooper Dossey (Dallas/Baylor). Cole Sherwood (Austin/Vanderbilt) is a new ambassador and will have full rookie playing privileges on the Korn Ferry Tour. Veritex Bank continues to title sponsor the Veritex Bank Championship, Texas’ only Korn Ferry Tournament.
William Moll (Houston/Vanderbilt) is the third Texas-native and Vanderbilt standout to begin his full rookie season wearing the Veritex Bank logo. He will compete on the PGA Tour Americas, alongside returning players Blaine Hale, Jr. (Dallas/Oklahoma) and Travis Vick (Houston/Texas). The final newcomer is Greg Odom, Jr. (Dallas/Howard), who will play primarily on the Advocates Pro Golf Tour.
Cheyenne Knight (Aledo/Alabama) will represent Veritex Bank on the LPGA Tour and Michelle Zhang (Dallas/SMU) on the EPSON Tour. Paul Stankowski (Flower Mound/UTEP) will serve as the lone ambassador on the PGA Tour Champions.
Three collegiate standouts also are members of Team Veritex this year. Farrah O’Keefe (Austin/Texas) and Mackenzie Lee (Little Rock/SMU) will both compete in the prestigious Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Preston Stout (Dallas/Oklahoma State) tied for first at the Big XII Championship as a freshman and made the cut on a special exemption at the Veritex Bank Championship.
In addition to its aforementioned association with the Golf Ambassadors and the Veritex Bank Championship, Veritex Bank provides support for junior golf and club professionals via partnerships with both the Northern and Southern Sections of the PGA of America. It recognizes Texas legends as a partner of the Texas Golf Hall of Fame. Furthermore, Veritex Bank acts as the title sponsor for tournaments organized by the Legends Junior Tour, including the Veritex Bank Byron Nelson Junior Championship, and the men’s and women’s golf teams at SMU.
